How do you diferentiate those things that you can be or achieve, and those that you can't?
I really want to believe that all kind of things are posible, but, there are some I think that are undoable. How do you identify realistic belief and deal with that? Gracias.

What a great read! I have just recently found this blog and have thoroughly enjoyed it since I have. I must admit that I find myself caught in the "try trap" way too often and am making a concious decision to not TRY to do anything, but to DO the things that are important! As master Yoda said in Star Wars "Do or do not, there is no try."

I'm not sure it's an outright lie, but I do think it's, at best, self-deception or an illusion.

I thought you were going to quote Pogo at the end. After reading your post I'm tempted to write a book and see if TNP will publish it: Weasel Words and Phrases, or How Business Skates Along.

You could consider it a sign of maturity when you minimize the conditionals from your communications. We have a 4 year old who, when pressed, will deny knowing (or doing) anything, particularly if we catch him in a lie. Could the use of "try" and "stretch" be considered a lie to ourselves and/or the ones we report to?
