If you are a blogger, you should be using PostRank.com. It provides far more information that Google Analytics alone. It is specifically designed to measure “engagement events”: the individual actions readers take online as a result of your post.

Michael, thanks for this. I just glanced through PostRank. I am assuming it is the PostRank Analytics portion you are referring to (the $9.00 a month service)? Do you happen to use the PostRank subscription service? If so, how does it compare to Google Reader?

Yes, I am referring to the service option. I don't use the subscription service, though I am using the PostRank add-in for ForeFox. It enables me to see the PostRank score for every article. It's pretty cool—and FREE!

Just a brief note to express my appreciation for the time and effort you put into your blog. I myself do not have a blog but have been sending my daughter some of your hints and tips over the past year or so. She has incorporated some of your ideas and suggestions into her efforts and is making great progress. Perhaps it's just "Dear Old Dad" bragging on his daughter, but if you're interested, her blog is called "Something To Write About". I'm proud of her!
