Annual Planning Calendar

Once a year, I like to plan out my calendar, so that I can make sure I am not driven by the “tyranny of the urgent.” I call this my Annual Time Block. Unfortunately, I could not find a ready-made tool any where. Microsoft Outlook and Entourage calendars only enable you to see a month at a time. Same for Google. So, I created an Excel workbook that provides a full-year at a glance. In fact, the workbook has three sheets in it, so you can plan out three years if you are so inclined. I explain how to use it here.

Been looking for a tool like this. You mentioned that you will explain on how to use this but there is no link to follow through. How do I use this? I am planning for 2010, If I change the calendar year, will the dates and days change?

    Thank you.

Hi, Michael. I have just recently signed for your mail updates. They look incredibly helpful! Now I’m starting a Life Plan for 2011 onwards. But I am having problems downloading the excel template. Could you check that, please? It says “File not found on the location”. Thanks a lot for the advice!

I just double-checked the link from here, and it seems to be working. Where are you grabbing the link?

Michael!!! Thanks again. It seems it is a problem with my Internet connection or something like that, because neither the link from this post nor the link from your reply seem to work for me. They send me to the file, but, when I try to open or save the file, a message of error appears. I will have to create a template for myself. Thanks for all the posts, the blog is very helpful for me and my girlfriend.
