Are You Ready to Start Living Your Life On-Purpose?

I am excited to announce the publication of my new e-book, Creating Your Personal Life Plan. This has been several months in the making. I am pleased to unveil it today. In a minute, I’ll tell you how to get a copy FREE—for a limited time.

As you may know, I wrote a blog post on this topic about three years ago. It is still the single most popular post on my blog. In fact, if you Google the words “life plan,” that original post is the top result.

The e-book is small—only 94 pages—so you can get through it quickly. But it is greatly expanded from my original post. I wanted to create something that would provide you with a step-by-step guide for designing the life you’ve always wanted. It is the exact same process I use in my own life.

Several of my family members and friends suggested that I publish this as a traditional book and sell it. I may eventually do that. But for right now, I am giving it away as A FREE DOWNLOAD to anyone who signs up to receive my blog updates by e-mail. For right now that is the only way to get it.

So far, twenty-two authors and speakers have endorsed it, including John C. Maxwell, Andy Andrews, Max Lucado, Dave Ramsey, Donald Miller, Andy Stanley, and Craig Groeschel. I am extremely grateful for their enthusiasm and support.

    I am an Orthodox Christian who found your blog through AFR. I read the earlier parts of this book that you posted in the past. I work in a secular setting, but I finally found a job at 40 that I believe utilizes my God-given talents and skills. I know that my job will most likely change at some point, and I want to continue to grow in my career. I also want to focus on other aspects of my life that are important as well (God, family, and friends). Thank you so much for this fantastics resource. I already downloaded and printed out my copy.

    I am having a bit of an issue with the annual time block. The calendar will not reformat per the instructions in the book.

      The key to getting the spreadsheet to work is the following:

      1. The 2009 through 2011 tabs are merely my example plan.
      2. The Template tabe is the one you want to replicate.
      3. Change the year value in cell A5.
      4. Recalculate the spreadsheet.

      This will re-spread the weekends and take into account leap years. I hope that helps.

    Wow…this is perfect for the season of life I’m in. I’m 27, not yet a mother but working on it, and don’t know if I should step into full time ministry when I become a stay-at-home Mom. My employer teases me about being my personal babysitter while I do both our jobs. The problem is….what do I truly want and is it pleasing to God? My husband is getting ready to explore different career options and we’re hoping to own our first home by the end of this year.         It really depends on your technical capabilities and how you want to publish it. I don’t know of a good, short answer. For table-top books with lots of photos, I recommend iPhoto or Aperture (if you want more control).

    Michael do you think it would be possible to write an ibook using an ipad and pages.  I googled this but there is so much information and actually your brain is better than google ?

      Yes, I do. I have not done this, so I don’t know how difficult it will be. You can select File | Export and then choose ePub as the format. This is the format that Apple and Sony use. You would then have to convert that to the Kindle format and whatever formats you want to support.

      If you have a Mac, check out Calibre. I have used that before, and it was very, very simple.
