Join Me for a FREE Platform Teleseminar

I’d like to invite you to join me for a free, LIVE Platform Teleseminar on Tuesday, June 19th at 8:00 pm Eastern Time (7:00 pm Central, 6:00 pm Mountain, 5:00 pm Pacific).

Michael Hyatt Broadcasting from His Home Studio

During the call, I’ll share several HELPFUL TIPS to help you jumpstart your own platform or expand your existing one. I’ll share specific visibility-generating advice for authors, entrepreneurs, pastors, professional speakers, small business owners, corporate brand managers, and more.

I’ll also answer questions LIVE—a perfect opportunity for you to ask me anything about platform-building, blogging, social media, or publishing. But you must register to participate.

What You’ll Learn

I will begin by sharing how I built my own platform from 100 readers a month to 300,000. I will explain:

  • What a platform is and why you MUST have one to succeed in today’s noisy marketplace.
  • The five steps you must take to build a powerful, personal platform (and why they must happen in order).
  • The one attribute your product or service must have in order to harness the power of word-of-mouth and turn your best customers into unpaid evangelists.
  • The mindset you must acquire before you launch any significant new product, cause, or brand.
  • A social media framework that will keep you from getting overwhelmed and enable you to stay focused on what matters most.
  • Why you can kiss traditional marketing goodbye—what no longer works and what does.
  • A single metaphor that explains what engagement is and how you can be more effective at it.
  • The main obstacle standing between you success—and how to overcome it.

How to Register

This call is FREE. You can access it LIVE by phone or a streaming web audio player. And yes, I will make the recording of the call available sometime after the call.

Please note: I only have room for 3,000 people on this teleseminar. (That’s the limit imposed by our hosting company.) Therefore, you must register now to participate.

Register for the FREE Platform Teleseminar

I am really excited about this online event. I want to give you a jumpstart in building your platform. I know personally what this can mean for your future.

If you still have questions, read the FAQs below.

Q: What is a teleseminar?

A: Think of it as a giant conference call. You dial in (or listen via streaming web audio), along with others and listen while I share and answer questions.

Q: How much does this cost?

A: It’s free. If you choose to access the LIVE call via phone, you may incur standard long-distance charges if you choose a dial-in number that is not local to you (there are multiple dial-in number options). Other than that, no fee at all.

Q: What is the date and time?

A: The LIVE call will take place on Tuesday, June 19th, at 8:00 pm Eastern Time (7:00 pm Central, 6:00 pm Mountain, 5:00 pm Pacific).

Q: How can I access the LIVE call?

A: You’ll have two options. Our call capacity is 3000 total. Five hundred can access the call via phone, the rest via streaming web audio (listening via your computer). Access is on a first-come, first-served based on registration and which access option you chose. We will notify you prior to the call with the specific phone number and web address.

Q: I can’t make the LIVE call. Will there be a recording?

A: Yes, I will make a recording available after the LIVE call. You are welcome to listen to that recording and share it with others. You’ll have the option to listen to a replay online or download the MP3 file.

Q: How do I ask a question for you to answer during the call?

A: When you register there will be an option for you to submit a question. I’ll do my best to answer as many questions as possible during the LIVE call. However, I will likely not get to all of them. I’ll try to make sure I address common themes.

Q: Do I need any special equipment?

A: No, nothing special needed. You won’t need to download anything to access the call. If you use the dial-in access then you simply make a phone call. If you use the streaming web access then you simply open a web browser, click play, and listen. I will send the instructions to you via email.

Q: When do I get access information after I register?

A: I will send you access information via email a day or two before the call and a reminder email on the day of the call.

Hi Michael – is that you in the picture? Ask because I want to start providing webinaires and podcasts and thought your equipment looks impressive. Any chance of quick run down as to what you use? Thanks

    • Michael Hyatt

Yes, sir. I use the exact equipment recommended by Cliff Ravenscraft at The PodcastAnswerman. I love it!

  • Al Getler

Michael, you gave a great talk at BlogWorld and New Media Expo in NYC this week.  A  member of the audience said it was the most notes he had taken during the conference.

I look forward to joining in on this teleseminar event with my team.

Congratulations on hitting #3 the Wall Street Journal Best Selling list this week. That is quite an accomplishment!

    • Michael Hyatt

Thanks, Al. I enjoyed meeting you. My teleseminar will be essentially that same talk, given in a little more conversational style with a chance to ask questions at the end.
Thanks so much for your encouragement!

  • Joe Abraham

Thanks Michael. I have already registered! Looking forward to it. Hope you would answer my question!

    • Michael Hyatt

I hope so, too, Joe. We will collect them all and see if I can answer the most frequently asked.

      • Joe Abraham

        That’s great!

  • Nikole Hahn

I registered. Thank you very much.

  • Joanne Sher

Thanks so much, Michael, for this opportunity. Can you tell me how long the teleseminar will be?

    • Michael Hyatt

Probably 45–60 minutes. It really depends on how many questions we get. Thanks!

  • Dan Erickson

I don’t like to be teased.  I’m mostly kidding of course.  I know your seminar has some good things to offer.  I know that giving away free pieces of information such as seminars, ebooks, downloads, etc. is a common marketing strategy.  I’ve read some of Godin’s work and see that every other post on Twitter is trying to convince me to take something for free.  Perhaps I’ll give in and try it as a marketing strategy myself someday.  However, I must say, that from a communication scholar’s critical perspective, that the free stuff often has a smell of ingenuity that accompanies it.  When I’m continually offered “free” information, I ask myself, “so what’s the catch?”  I know free is simply a marketing tool to attempt to “sell” more.

My sincere question for you: How do you get around the fact that there are millions of critical thinkers like me that don’t “buy” this idea of “free?”

    • Craig Eddy

In my opinion, you’ll never “get around the fact” that there are  a lot of people who don’t believe someone else has more than just their own self-interest in mind.

Further, for most of that audience I don’t know that there’s any way you could “convince” them otherwise. In fact, the act of “convincing” them would be more fuel for the fire of the cynic.

So, what to do? Believe in yourself. Believe in your “product” (sometimes those are the same thing). Be genuine. And above all, be honest and up-front.

I just finished Mr. Hyatt’s book, “Platform”, not 10 minutes ago. Great book!

I stopped by here to take advantage of his colophon and resources pages and was thrilled to find this post. It sounds like the teleseminar will make for a great “recap” of all that I’ve read and help me get further down the road with my new blog.

    • Michael Hyatt

Enough do to make it worth it. ;-)

Honestly, I don’t spend a lot of time trying to lead people who don’t want to be led. I don’t mean this disrespectfully to you, but it is easy for marketers to let the tail wag the dog.
By the way, my motive is to sell more copies of my book, Platform, and to add value to the people who follow me. I have been doing the latter here for free since I started blogging.

      • Dan Erickson

I also mean no distespect and I appreciate all that you do. I like to think outside the box sometimes and promote looking at things from alternative angles. Thanks for responding to my comment. De

  • Cynthia Herron

So excited about this! I’ll sign up in a moment and I’ll mention it on the ACFW loops today. Thank you for sharing, encouraging, and serving!

(P.S. Oh, and I’m bringing Platform (tremendous!!) to conference for you to autograph personally!)

    • Michael Hyatt

Thanks so much, Cynthia! I look forward to signing your copy.

  • Brian A. Holmes

Looking forward to the seminar. REALLY enjoying the book. I just attended a bootcamp with Dan Miller and Kent Julian. I also have connect to Joel Boggess who I believe you recently interviewed with. I am at a very strategic time in my ministry, and the tools and relationships that God seems to be putting in my path are both timely and helpful. Thanks for all you do, Michael.

  • Time With Tracy

Looking forward to the call, Michael, thanks for doing this! “Platform” isn’t the type of book you read cover to cover one time and then put back on the shelf. It’s more of a reference guide full of valuable information that I will go back to again and again. My copy is already marked up with highlighter.

What appeals to me most about taking my platform to the next level is the idea of expanding my reach to encourage others.

    • Michael Hyatt

Great, Tracy. I look forward to having you on the call.

  • Craig Eddy

Having just finished reading “Platform”, and in the process of setting up a new blog for my business, I look forward to attending!

This seems like it will be a great refresher to help me absorb what I’ve just read. The perfect “jumping off point” for taking action.

  • Ed

Will the audio download be available to everyone? Or only those who register? I’m pretty sure I will not be able to sit in on the call, and would hate to take a registration away from someone just to get the audio.

    • Michael Hyatt

Yes, I will make it available to anyone. I just don’t know when it will be.

  • Jolie101415

I just signed up for teleseminar, not realizing it was on Tues night (thought Monday). I have a ministry meeting that night  — will it be available on your site if we can’t make it?  Hate to miss it but I don’t want to miss participating in this ministry group!  Thanks!

  • Cheryl B Lemine

I’m putting on my “hard hat” and ready for platform construction to begin. Thank you.

  • Nils

    Looking forward to it!

  • Lwhitlock

I’ve just started a blog, and I’d like to build the readership. That’s my main concern at the moment and my reason for being interested in the teleseminar.

    • Michael Hyatt

Great. I will be addressing that.

Hi. My name is Steve Brown. I signed up via email on 6/1 to receive email updates on new blog posts on this website. To date, I have not received an update other thancthe initial confirmation of my subscription. Perhaps its an error w/my email address? Also, I’m reading the book Platform, absolutely love it!

    • Michael Hyatt

Thanks, Steve. Can you check your spam folder and see if the messages are going there. Also, if you can “white list” my e-mail address:

    • Bryan

Same here. Registered within 24 hours of the first announcement and haven’t received any email notification (checked spam folders, etc.). I use Google Apps/Gmail as my email platform.

      • Michael Hyatt

Are you talking about for the teleseminar or my e-mail newsletter list?

  • Carymassey143

I have written a book (I hope to self-publish), developed and teach a family buiding series by the same name: “Becoming An Intentional Family” . I’d like to reach and attract a larger audience of participants to my book, series and blog.

  • Mike Albano

Hi. Do I need to register if I just want to download the mp3? I want to join but the time will be difficult as I’m in Asia.

    • Michael Hyatt

No, you do not. I will announce the recording when it is available.

I have now read your book twice – and I agree with Tracy that this will be a “reference” book for me.  I read the hard copy – then re-read via Kindle on a plane.  And I want to go back with hard copy and highlighted pages and begin go implement, implement, implement.  I plan to begin the WORK of building a platform for the book I am writing – I realize more than ever that it is about doing the work.  Just digging in – and doing the work.  I am hoping your book is the “war manual” I need in the war against “Resistance” as described by Steven Pressfield in his books, Do the Work and the War of Art.   Thanks for writing it.

    • Michael Hyatt

      Thanks, Louise. Very encouraging.

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this but I gave up searching. I’d love to know what you think about leading with a podcast to build a platform. My wife and I want to create a podcast about adoption. We’d have a blog but the podcast would be our main avenue to connect with folks and generate content. Thanks for any thoughts.

    • Michael Hyatt

I think it’s a great idea. Your podcast can definitely be your home base. In fact, I am working on a post called, “Why You Should Consider Launching a Podcast.”

I know I must build a platform to take my writing to the next step. I am sure I am not alone in that this is all new to me. I am willing to do what it takes to get there. I am looking for skill sets and information that I need to go forward

Hi, Michael! I’m halfway through “Platform” and am loving it! This teleseminar sounds wonderful! I am a self-published author with good sales so far but am still far from what I want to be. What appeals to me about building a platform is the relationships with others that can be created. Being an author is lonely work sometimes, and there are a lot of lonely, frustrated writers around. I’d love to be an encouragement to them.

My question for you would be how to get more people interacting with my posts, blogs, etc. As I am just starting to build the platform, I know it probably takes time. However, as much as I follow advice of all the ways to get people to interact, I still only get one or two comments at best. Does it just take a while to get the ball rolling?

    Thanks for all you do!

    • Michael Hyatt

I have devoted much to section five of the book to this, so hang on—you are almost there!

      • Vicki V. Lucas

Now I’m tempted to skip ahead! Thanks for responding!

  • Donna Moritz

Hi Michael. Can we register for the replay later if the session is full – as it looks like it is (as I expected it would be!) I was a bit late getting to this…thanks!

    • Michael Hyatt

Yes, we will make it available later. Unfortunately, I don’t know the details yet. Thanks.

  • Clare Abbott

    Hi Michael,
Really looking forward to hearing your teleseminar, although I do wish it was at a slightly more accessible time for us folks over in England!  Maybe next time…?
Can I ask you what you have written above your desk?  From the words I can see, it looks inspiring….
    Thanks Michael.

  • Vicki V. Lucas

Hi, Michael! Got another question for you! I just read some of your information about tribes, and Seth Godin’s book “Tribes” is on my “To Read” list. Do authors have tribes? I know people with tribes have books – ie Dave Ramsey. However, Ramsey isn’t primarily an author. Is it possible for an author – fiction or nonfiction – to develop a tribe?

    Thanks for your time!

    • Michael Hyatt

  • Jeff Williams

Hi Michael. I am looking forward to your upcoming teleseminar, and I am over halfway through your book ‘Platform.’ I am a fiction writer (novels) and started a blog a few months ago. Could you tell me how prospective editors would judge such a blog, i.e. what would they be looking for? Many thanks.

  • Marnie Swedberg

Thanks for continually sharing quality training. So grateful!

  • Janna

When will you do this again?

    • jaspreet jassi

I think the park will be great.  “Better than what it was,”
