No New Blog Posts This Week
I am not posting any new blog posts this week. My content team and I are taking the week off so we can rest and recharge after an intense season.
Margin matters, and it’s a big part of our value system at my company. We want to affirm (and model) the importance of time away for rejuvenation. I look forward to connecting with you again next Monday!
When you create as much video content as we do, you’re bound to capture some funny moments. My talented friends at Rainey Media gathered this collection of some of my best bloopers in 2016. Enjoy!
We all know the physical benefits to running. I won’t waste your time by repeating them here. However, people who don’t run often miss the non-physical benefits. To me, these are even more valuable than the physical ones.
If your goals for the new year include losing weight or improving your health, you might be thinking about running as an option. But let’s be honest. It can get pretty cold out there right now.
We’re taking a break from the podcast to celebrate July 4. We’ll be back on Wednesday & Friday with our regular blog posts, and next Monday the 11th with Season 8, Episode 4 of the podcast.
In the meantime, enjoy my favorite rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner by the Gaither Vocal Band.
We create a lot of video content every year in our shop. And that means we make a lot of mistakes. My talented friends at Rainey Media capture every last one. And that’s good news because here’s a collection of my best bloopers in 2015!

When I left the corporate suite at Thomas Nelson a few years back I wanted to settle into the life of a solopreneur—writing, speaking, and coaching. Instead I built a lean, rapidly expanding multimillion dollar company.

What I found early on was that as my message resonated, my need for a team grew. There was only one of me, but there were also too many opportunities I couldn’t pass up. Soon a new strategy emerged, I set new goals, and formed a new company.
Now I lead an ambitious team of sixteen people. We’re creating products, launching courses, and business is exceptionally good. We’ve actually doubled our sales every year since I started the company. And that means I need to add another team member—a chief financial officer.
It turns out a large number of Americans have no idea what the Fourth of July is all about. That’s tragic!
Almost thirty years ago today, President Ronald Reagan gave an address for the Fourth of July. Whatever your party or politics, I hope you’ll find it both inspiring and informative.
Today is Memorial Day in the United States. For many, this simply means an opportunity to take the day off, relaxing with family and friends. But there’s more to it than that.
Memorial Day is a day we set aside to commemorate those veterans who have died in the service of our country. It was first enacted to honor those in the Union Army who died in the American Civil War. After the first World War, it was expanded to include American casualties of any war or military action.
I’ve been talking about the benefits of working at a standup desk for years now. Standing makes you feel happier and more energetic. It also burns more calories.

I’ve also been a major advocate for getting enough sleep each night. Sleep keeps us sharp and improves our ability to remember, learn, and grow.
Now I’m going to let you in on how I’m taking these two practices to the next level. I recently started standing while sleeping, and the results have been phenomenal.
I’ve been doing reader surveys since 2009, and I get excited every time the numbers come in. As far as I’m concerned, a reader survey is the best way to get real, useful, concrete data on the people I want to serve best: you.

Last month I launched my 2015 reader survey. I do a survey almost every year because it helps me gain clarity and improve the content I create. For the past few days, I’ve been pouring over the results.
To my delight, almost thirty-five hundred people participated. I want to share the results with you, along with how I plan to use the feedback to meet your needs and exceed your expectations in the coming year.
