That led me to Seesmic Desktop. For me, this is just the right balance between power and elegance. It does everything I want a Twitter program to do without getting in the way. I found the user interface simple and intuitive. It also has some very subtle design elements built-in, like shading the tweets you have responded to in a slightly different color.
